Indian-origin NASA astronaut Anil Menon received a warm welcome aboard the International Space Station (ISS) after the Soyuz MS-29 spacecraft successfully docked following a little over three-hour journey from Kazakhstan.

Heartwarming visuals show Menon exchanging hugs and handshakes with fellow crew members in microgravity as he begins his first space mission, an expedition expected to last nearly eight months. He travelled alongside Russian cosmonauts Pyotr Dubrov and Anna Kikina, after lifting off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome.
