Why are Reliance Industries and Adani Group both interested in partnering with Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited, also known as CATL?

CATL is considered one of the world’s largest battery manufacturers and plays a major role in electric vehicles (EVs), battery storage systems, and global clean energy infrastructure. Reports suggest Reliance is in talks with CATL for battery storage system components and ready-made battery cells for its Jamnagar clean energy project in Gujarat.

The video also explains how China has tightened restrictions on advanced battery technology exports, making it more difficult for foreign companies to locally manufacture CATL’s technology. Because of this, Reliance is now reportedly focusing more on importing battery cells and components directly.
