U.S. President Donald Trump says he believes Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy both want the war in Ukraine to end, but he argues that the two leaders do not know how to reach that point.

Trump points to the deep hostility between the leaders and says his administration will work to help bring the conflict to an end. His assessment of both leaders’ intentions is his own and does not establish that a peace agreement is imminent.
