U.S. President Donald Trump has said his administration is exploring the possibility of giving the American public a stake in major AI companies, describing the idea as a potential “partnership” between the industry and citizens.

The comments follow reports that senior government officials have already held preliminary discussions with AI firms about the possibility of the U.S. government purchasing shares in leading companies.
