China has launched the world's first national lifecycle management platform for humanoid robots, assigning every machine a unique twenty nine character digital ID code that tracks it from the factory floor all the way through to decommissioning. The code captures manufacturer details, hardware specifications, AI capability level, serial data, and full service history, creating an end to end traceability system modeled on China's national citizen ID framework. The platform already covers more than one hundred companies, over two hundred product models, and twenty eight thousand registered robots across the country. China currently manufactures eighty four percent of the global humanoid robot supply, with fourteen thousand four hundred units shipped in 2025 alone out of a global total of roughly seventeen thousand. This regulatory move brings accountability, standardized safety oversight, and unified data infrastructure to an industry that has until now operated without a common tracking framework. For investors and operators watching the humanoid robot space, this signals that China is building the governance layer to match its production dominance.
