President Trump said Tuesday that the U.S. will refer to artificial intelligence as "super intelligence," adding "whoever wins super intelligence, wins."

"We don't want to hear 'artificial,' because it's not artificial," he said. "It's very powerful. It's very brilliant. It's going to mostly be put to great use, and we'll stop the bad use."

Trump made the comments as he unveiled America.gov, a new AI tool the administration is promoting as a way to simplify Americans’ access to information and services scattered across a plethora of agency websites.

Speaking at a launch event for the site, Trump vowed the government would never limit the development of artificial intelligence, even as top executives of AI firms that have called for delays convene in Washington.

“I will never stifle the growth of a technology that will be bigger than the industrial revolution,” Trump said at the unveiling of an AI chatbot, America.gov, intended to help Americans negotiate government services. “We can’t stifle it, and we’re leading by a lot.”
