President Donald Trump delivers full remarks at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston as he honors the Artemis II astronauts with the Congressional Space Medal of Honor and lays out an ambitious vision for America’s future in space — from returning to the Moon to eventually reaching Mars.

Trump praised the Artemis II crew and the thousands of NASA engineers, scientists, astronauts and specialists involved in the mission. He described the crew’s journey around the Moon as an achievement that captured the imagination of people around the world and said Artemis had helped bring a renewed spirit of exploration to America.

During the speech, Trump declared that the United States is entering a “golden age” of space exploration. He highlighted NASA’s Artemis program, America’s commercial space industry and the role of Space Force in strengthening U.S. capabilities in space.

Trump also spoke about America's plans to return astronauts to the lunar surface and establish a permanent American settlement on the Moon. He said the United States would not stop there, pointing toward Mars as the next frontier.

Another major theme was competition with other nations and America's goal of maintaining leadership in space. Trump emphasized the rapid growth of orbital launches and the increasing role of private companies in the U.S. space industry.

He also highlighted the upcoming Roman Space Telescope, describing it as a major scientific achievement and saying it could help unlock secrets of the universe.
