Denmark has officially assumed the Presidency of the United Nations Security Council for the month of August, with Ambassador Christina Markus Lassen, Denmark's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, outlining the Council's priorities during her first official press conference.

As President of the Security Council, Denmark will oversee the Council's monthly agenda, coordinate discussions among member states, and lead meetings on some of the world's most pressing international security challenges.
