U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order in the Oval Office establishing a new Military Spouses Commission, an initiative aimed at improving support, employment opportunities, and resources for the spouses of active-duty U.S. service members.

The announcement highlights the administration's focus on addressing the unique challenges faced by military families, including frequent relocations, career disruptions, childcare, education, and access to essential services. The commission is expected to work with federal agencies, the Department of Defense, and other stakeholders to recommend policies that strengthen support for military spouses across the United States.

The executive order was signed during a White House event attended by administration officials and military family representatives, underscoring the role military spouses play in supporting America's armed forces.
