A Russian military training exercise descended into chaos after troops reportedly mounted a powerful helicopter machine gun on a ground-based platform.

Viral footage appears to show a soldier losing control of the YakB-12.7 rotary machine gun, a weapon commonly associated with the Mi-24 attack helicopter. Once fired, the gun begins rotating uncontrollably, throwing the operator from his position and forcing nearby troops to scramble for cover as rounds are discharged in different directions.
