Trump announced Wednesday that South Korea will invest about $200 billion in U.S. energy infrastructure, including $54 billion for the long-planned Alaska LNG project, eight large nuclear reactors, and a 6-gigawatt power-generation facility in Texas.

The investments are part of a broader trade agreement reached last year, under which South Korea committed $350 billion for U.S. projects, including $150 billion for shipbuilding and $200 billion in strategic investments, in exchange for a 15% tariff rate on South Korean goods.

"Part of that money is going into this project,” Trump said of the Alaska LNG development, calling it “one of the largest energy projects in American history."
