A vicious storm pounded southern Manitoba, specifically the Winnipeg area and surrounding areas, on Monday evening, June 29.

The storm produced winds of 106 km/h or greater, leaving a trail of destruction in the southwest of the city, including the partial collapse of a house.

The impact of the strong winds immediately knocked out city utilities on a massive scale. Manitoba Hydro reported that more than 14,200 Winnipeg customers were left without power on Tuesday morning.
