A bombshell New York Times report claims Saudi Arabia refused to allow the United States to use its airspace during Washington's latest military confrontation with Iran over the Strait of Hormuz, forcing the Trump administration to abandon Operation Project Freedom within 48 hours. According to the report, Trump personally called Mohammed bin Salman multiple times, while Vice President JD Vance, Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner and Marco Rubio also joined an intense diplomatic push to persuade Riyadh. But Saudi Arabia reportedly stood firm, fearing the operation could drag the kingdom into another regional war with Iran.
