At the Eurasian Economic Forum, Vladimir Putin delivered a stark warning about the accelerating impact of artificial intelligence. He said it is a “very real scenario” that millions could lose jobs as entire professions disappear, replaced by machine intelligence and automation systems.

Putin described this transformation as both irreversible and inevitable, stressing that societies must prepare for large-scale labour market disruption. However, he also emphasised that AI should not only be seen as a threat, but as a potential driver of accelerated economic growth if properly managed.

His remarks reflect growing global debate over the future of work, economic restructuring, and how governments can balance technological progress with employment stability in an increasingly AI-driven global economy today.
