India is standing firm on its decision to continue buying Russian oil, despite growing criticism from the West. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has said that stopping purchases of Russian crude will not end the Russia-Ukraine war, stressing that India’s energy security remains a national priority. Russian oil has become a major source for Indian refiners amid turmoil in global energy markets, helping secure supplies for the country’s 1.4 billion people. India has also called for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the conflict. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged Russia to move away from 'endless war' and towards peace, while India maintains its independent energy policy. Gursshheen Gahllen brings you the report on Firstpost Live.
