Five people were arrested after local law enforcement conducted a multi-jurisdictional enforcement operation to crack down on illegal street racing over the weekend.

The individuals arrested are a result of a months-long investigation that included intelligence from undercover law enforcement, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office. The undercover operation discovered organized street racing groups that planned to gather at multiple locations throughout the region on Saturday, June 27.
