BJP leader Annamalai has joined the attack against Tamil Nadu Leader of Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin over controversial remarks following chants of actor Trisha's name during a speech. Annamalai stated that the filth was bigger than the Vaigai river and criticized Udhayanidhi's mindset. The controversy erupted after Udhayanidhi paused and smiled when the crowd chanted Trisha's name during his address on the Cauvery water issue. While Udhayanidhi clarified that he was referring to the Cauvery dispute, TVK leader Aadhav Arjuna criticized him, and ally Congress demanded an unconditional apology over the incident.
