Donald Trump recounted a dramatic version of the Flydubai mid-air emergency, hailing an Israeli passenger he described as a plumber who helped stop a suspected cockpit attack and stabilize the aircraft. Trump said the man had “never flown a plane” but stepped in as the jet plunged, telling reporters the passengers were otherwise “going to die.” Trump also cautioned that this was the account he had heard from Benjamin Netanyahu and others and that he did not know whether every detail was accurate.
